Justin Fields has no intention of allowing Russell Wilson to take the starting quarterback position, as he is angling to become the Steelers QB1.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were one of the busiest teams during free agency, as general manager Omar Khan made multiple moves to improve the roster.One of the biggest moves was acquiring former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year deal with the team.
Wilson and Fields have both had their up-and-down seasons in the NFL, though Fields is only three seasons into his career. Wilson is about to enter his 13th. Fields has plenty more upside as a younger quarterback and he is set on competing.Fields spoke to Eric Edholm of NFL.com, stating Tuesday, 'I'm definitely competing. I think Russ knows that. We're competing against each other every day...Helps me get better, us pushing each other.
