The Pittsburgh Steelers are considering doing something completely odd for Justin Fields' role in the 2024 season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have pulled together two of the biggest free agent signings in the NFL. They began by taking in free agent Russell Wilson, whose two-year run with the Denver Broncos did not work out. He was benched in the 2023 season, all but signaling he was going to suit up for another team in 2024.Steelers general manager Omar Khan followed the Wilson signing by also trading for former Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. The trade was shocking from the Steelers' end.
The new rule states that the kicker of the kicking team will line up on his own 35-yard line, while 10 players from the kicking team will line up on the 40-yard line of the receiving team. The receiving team will be allowed to have a minimum of nine players line up anywhere between their own 30 to 35-yard line to defend the kicking team's players.Should the ball land in the 'landing zone' — between the 20-yard and goal line of the receiving team — it must be returned.
