Biden attempted to put to rest concerns about his age during his State of the Union address on Thursday.“In my career I’ve been told I’m too young … I’ve been told I am too old,” Biden said. “My fellow Americans, the issue facing our nation isn’t how old we are, it’s how old our ideas are. Hate, anger, revenge, retribution are among the oldest of ideas.
But you can’t lead America with ancient ideas that only take us back.”“To lead America, the land of possibilities,” he continued, “you need a vision for the future of what America can and should be.”Biden, who at 81 is the oldest president to hold office, has been subject to skepticism and doubt about his age from voters, as well as some lawmakers, as he remains the Democrratic frontrunner for the 2024 presidential election.
