MONTREAL, QUE.—Church bells rang in the snowy air over Old Montreal first thing on a frigid morning as Brian Mulroney, son of Baie-Comeau, Que., and Canada’s 18th prime minister was remembered during a state funeral inside Notre-Dame Basilica on March 23. The wind whipped through the streets and the snow quickly accumulated as members of the media set up directly across from the main steps.
