Investigators said that Young monitored the woman’s phone usage so she couldn’t contact authorities, but she was able to make contact with a third party who then called the police.
The woman was able to escape and call the police when Young reportedly stopped near a wooded area in Upper Turkeyfoot Township to sleep, but then Young allegedly grabbed the woman’s phone and fled.
Young was taken into custody on Nov. 6 and was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault and making threats, according to court documents. He is being held in the Somerset County Prison on $25,000 bail. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
