Fête Chinoise, the platform for contemporary Chinese culture, celebrated Lunar New Year and the eighth edition of its signature magazine on Jan. 28 at the Shangri-La Toronto, whose main ballroom was transformed into an eclectic courtyard inspired by Malaysia’s historic Blue Mansion.

Hong Kong pop star Yoyo Sham, Canadian singer Tyler Shaw and the Goh Ballet performed for more than 800 guests. Community leaders and celebrities who walked the red carpet included MCs Lainey Lui and Wallace Wong, “Shang-Chi” star Meng’er Zhang, chefs Craig Wong and Trevor Lui, Mayor John Tory and Universal Music’s Jeffrey Remedios, who represented the Scarborough Health Network, the event’s benefiting charity.
