Star Wars has had opportunities to bring Darth Vader's apprentice to the canon, and the upcoming Ahsoka show could finally make it happen.
Although it nearly happened once before, a new opportunity has presented itself for Darth Vader's secret apprentice to be brought back to the official Star Wars canon. The protagonist of the Force Unleashed video games, Vader's apprentice Starkiller is still a beloved fan-favorite character despite his relegation to Star Wars' non-canonical Legends ever since Disney's continuity purge back in 2012.
Originally named Galen Marek and the son of a fallen Jedi, Starkiller's initial origins where Vader takes him as a child to be trained likely could have remained the same. However, he wouldn't have needed to be trained in secret if he'd become an Inquisitor like many other corrupted Jedi in the canon. That said, one could imagine a scenario where perhaps Starkiller was still favored by Vader due to his prowess and great strength in the Force.
