STAMPS NOTES: Stamps preparing for deep and dangerous Lions d-line Stampeders CFL
The Lions had 10 defensive linemen on their active roster last Saturday in a 46-14 rout of the Edmonton Elks. If one guy needs a break, there’s another big fella with fresh legs ready to come in and create havoc for their opponent’s offensive line.
Currently, the Lions have the second-most sacks in the entire CFL, with 21. They’re also allowing the fewest rushing yards in the league and have a 6-1 record. It’s a huge challenge for the Stampeders’ offensive line, especially when you consider that they’ll be without starting centre Sean McEwen and starting right tackle Julian Good-Jones was ruled out of Saturday’s game because of a shoulder injury.
There’s a clear respect for the Lions among the guys in the Stampeders’ locker-room. The Stamps definitely believe they can beat their West Division rivals, but to a man, every player has repeated over and over again that the Lions are the real deal.
