Stampeders Notes: Receivers hope to be more sure-handed in this battle with Bombers CFL
Article contentNobody was happy with the way they played against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers two weeks ago. Dropped passes cost the Stamps in a big way in that 26-19 defeat, and none of the Stamps receivers were pleased with the way they played.
A betting man would put his money on them bouncing back in a big way. The group didn’t simply shrug its shoulders and move on during the bye-week. The players held each other accountable and were eager to start fixing their mistakes. “The key is just keep working,” said Stamps head coach Dave Dickenson. “None of us have gone through a season playing every game well, whether it’s quarterback, running back, receiver, o-line, defence … doesn’t matter. Just be yourself, play your game, play confidently, and if something doesn’t go your way, try to win the next play.”
“That’s perfect to be in the room with Reggie and Malik and all those guys. We want to keep it 100, and we all knew we had a bad game,” Jorden said. “Obviously, I know I had a bad game, but we all could have played better, so we’re all looking in the mirror, seeing the things we can get better at and focusing on game-planning this week — what we want to get done on offence, what we want to do and how we attack them.
