"I think we're playing good," Stafford quarterback Brayden Batiste said."Of course we're going to have those little mistakes that we can fix, but overall I think we're playing well as a team. If we all just come together when it's game time and we do what we have to do, we're always going to come out with the win."Batiste scored the only points of the first half with 1:52 remaining, barreling from 4 yards out.
"That was really big," Batiste said."When we come together as a team, have long drives and end up finishing, that's what it's all about. That's what we practice all week and luckily we executed that in the game this week." Brazosport punted four plays later, then could not take advantage of a 32-yard run by quarterback Randon Fontenette. Huff tackled him for a loss on fourth and five and the Spartans took their 7-0 lead into halftime.
"We try to get as much pressure as we can, make the quarterback have to think more, try to get harder throws and give our secondary a chance to get the ball," Huff said.
