St. Louis Blues place defenseman Torey Krug on LTIR with lower-body injury
Krug is in his third season with the Blues organization after signing a monster seven-year, $45 million contract in October 2020. The contract holds an average annual value of $6.5 million. Krug, 31, has registered 17 points in 31 games to start the season while possessing a Corsi-for of 48.8% and an offensive zone start percentage of 72.9%. He is a big part of the Blues’ top power play unit and currently has eight powerplay points on the year.
Furthermore, the Blues announced that they have recalled defenseman Tyler Tucker from their AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds. Tucker was selected 200th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft. Last season, he led the Thunderbirds in fighting majors with six and 114 penalty minutes. This season, Tucker has registered 13 points in 24 games, along with 45 penalty minutes.
