Josh Primo, other first-round teens headline Spurs’ summer league roster

Josh Primo, taken 12th overall in 2021, will join 2022 first-round picks Jeremy Sochan , Malaki Branham and Wesley Blake next week in Las Vegas, the Spurs announced Tuesday.“It’s exciting,” Spurs general manager Brian Wright said on draft night of the team’s large collection of teens. The unit will begin workouts Wednesday at the Spurs’ practice facility that are expected to run through the weekend.
“All of our young guys being in the gym, working and pushing each other and growing together, it’s huge,” Wright said. “And I think you will see that as we enter the season. There is a lot of development work being done throughout the roster, and we are excited to add these guys to the mix and get them to work.”
Other members of the 17-man summer league roster include 2021 second-round pick Joe Wieskamp; 2021-22 two-way players Robert Woodard II and DJ Stewart Jr.; undrafted rookies Dominick Barlow, Kyler Edwards, Anthony Polite, Jordan Hall, Denzel Mahoney, Darius Days, Josh Carlton and Sasha Stefanovic; and second-year pros Ky Bowman and Javin DeLaurie.Spurs assistant Mitch Johnson will be head coach of the summer league team for the second straight year.
