Former players of the Prince George Spruce Kings will participate in the Spruce Kings Alumni Game, playing against each other in a warm-up act before the BCHL game.

Hundreds of players have come and gone since the Prince George Spruce Kings first started playing junior hockey in 1972. Aside from the current edition of the team that’s playing in the B.C. Hockey League this season and a long list of players now plying their trade in NCAA and U Sports college hockey, dozens of former Spruce Kings still like to lace ‘em up playing in recreational and senior leagues. This Saturday afternoon at 2:45 p.m.

at Kopar Memorial Arena, Prince George hockey fans will get to see them in action playing against each other in the Spruce Kings Alumni Game. Former Spruce Kings stars Stew Margunas, David Keough, John Hopson, captain Rick Kooses, Dan Gunton and goalie Damian Ketlo will dress up in Spruce Kings white to take on the guys in blue, including Tyler Loney, Parish Child, Lyle Rose, captain Chris Hawes and goalie Dan Lizotte. The game is warm-up act for the BCHL game between the Kings and the Merritt Centennials that starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $5 for yout
