The Red Sox sent eight batters to the plate in the second inning, scoring three times. The first four reached safely. J.D. Martinez doubled home Rafael Devers, and catcher Kevin Plawecki knocked in Martinez with a single to left field. Kike Hernandez singled to right to bring in Plawecki.
