Hector Arturo Campos, 48, was convicted earlier this week of murder for fatally shooting 53-year-old Ana Weed in January 2017 outside her home in the 3400 block of Mourning Dove in Spring.A Spring man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for gunning down his neighbor in the middle of the day while she stood with her dog in her front yard.
A few months later, Campos confronted Weed in her front yard about the incident, and an argument ensued. Weed's small dog started barking at Campos, and he responded by trying to kick the animal. Once Weed started to retrieve the dog, Campos shot her, officials said. “You took away the life of an incredible and valuable person,” Weed’s sister, Carmen Guillen, said during her victim impact statement. “We will cherish her memory and she will never be forgotten. She lives on through her son and grandchildren.”After a string of high-profile losses, Harris County DA Kim Ogg is left to battle critics on all sides
