Francis Lam, host of the Splendid Table radio show and podcast , will be in Los Angeles on Sunday for a live taping celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary.A panel of LA food writers, including Evan Kleiman, host of KCRW’s Good Food, Tejal Rao, the California restaurant critic for the New York Times, and LAist food editor Gab Chabrán.
There will also be three restaurateurs currently making waves: Uyên Lê, of Bé Ù in Virgil Village; Keith Corbin, author and chef and owner of Alta Adams; and Alex and Elvia Garcia of Evil Cooks.public radio show and podcast has been examining the intersection of food and life through conversations with chefs, farmers and writers. This Sunday afternoon , host Francis Lam will be celebrating with a live taping of the show at Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo. He'll be looking at how the Los Angeles food scene has changed in the past three decades, as well as taking the pulse of where we are now, with a panel of L.A. food writers and three iconic L.A. chefs., host of All Things Considered on LAist 89.3, about his long love affair with Los Angeles, which began when he started visiting the city more than 20 years ago. Lam recalls being"blown away by the richness of the neighborhoods," and believes that L.A. is now one of the best places to eat in the world., the bakery with locations in Culver City and Grand Central Market, owned by Nicole Rucker. “I think Nicole might be the greatest pie maker I've ever come across,” he said.
