Spider-Man writers explain brief No Way Home Matt Murdock cameo: SpiderManNoWayHome
Revealing their excitement upon learning about Charlie's appearance, Sommers said the writers' room came up with all sorts of potential storylines before settling on having Matt act as Peter's lawyer.
"Once we knew we were gonna have Matt Murdock, it's like, 'He could do this, he could do that, that would be so cool, wouldn't that be great?'" he recalled . Unfortunately, there was only so much the movie could do with Matt Murdock – and ultimately, the writers had to scale down some of their more ambitious plans.
"That was the challenge with this movie: bringing all these other characters in. We love these characters, and you would love to see them do all kinds of stuff, but the question is, what is there room for?" Sommers continued.
