All five members are all on board for an animated makeover more than two decades after the 1998 cult classicThe girl band’s longtime manager, Simon Fuller, will produce the film, while screenwriting duo Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith, who worked together on the likes ofWe’re still keeping our eyes peeled for the announcement of who’ll fill the director’s chair.
Powered on, well, girl power, the movie is in early development by Paramount Animation, which boasts a mostly female senior staff. The best-selling girl group of all time, the Spice Girls have sold more than 85 million albums.
