United Way Hastings Prince Edward provided a grant of $3,300 to Quinte West and Belleville public libraries, and the Alzheimer Society created special kits you can borrow.
Chief Librarian Trevor Pross tells Mary Thomas of Quinte News, “If you are a caregiver and you’re working with a patient who has Alzheimer’s or dementia, then you can use these kits.”“Picture books and stuff that are, you know, aimed at an adult audience. It’s not children’s stuff . And there’s activities, sort of games and things that are all designed to work well with people that are suffering from dementia.
