Published: Oct. 23, 2023 at 6:35 PM AKDTANCHORAGE, Alaska - Winds gusted up to 60 mph in parts of northwest Alaska in response to a large low passing by the state. Its weather impacts spanned from high winds to high surf, blowing and drifting snow and a mix of snow and rain. Temperatures rose dramatically even with the stormy weather. The highest wind gust was at Point Hope with 59 miles per hour, Point Lay had a gust to 47 mph and 43 mph in Kotzebue.
Warnings and advisories are in place going into Monday night, and many will go into Tuesday afternoon and evening as well.
