Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida, one of Florida’s largest community banks, recently opened a location in Jacksonville with plans to develop more in the Northeast Florida community.
The bank’s main focus will be on serving businesses in industries including health care, technology, transportation, logistics building products and materials, said Brannon Fitch, Seacoast Bank’s executive vice president and regional president for North Florida.
“Our emphasis is really going to be on serving clients where we can leverage our strengths,” he said. “We’re very fortunate to have a number of seasoned bankers to our team. We want to be able to support and add value for entrepreneurs who are headquartered in Jacksonville and Duval.”Dorsey, a native Floridian who raised two children in Jacksonville, said Seacoast is going to reinvest in the community however it can.
“I think Seacoast has done an exceptional job in recruiting people in the market who are longtime Jacksonville residents and longtime bankers in the area,” Dorsey said. “The goal was to grow the brand and drive it. We’re actively out there developing the local business.” Seacoast’s Jacksonville team is currently in a temporary office space but plans to open a full-service branch in the first quarter of 2023.“We put together what I think is an extremely strong, highly qualified team that joined us,” Shaffer said. “There are not a lot of community banks left in the Jacksonville market, and we believe we bring a community bank approach to clients.”
