Trent Singleton has 3 seasons of eligibility remaining

South Alabama has added its second transfer portal recruit of the 2024 spring cycle, with former Mississippi State safety Trent Singleton set to join the Jaguars’ program this summer.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Singleton was the second player to commit to South Alabama out of the transfer portal on Monday, followingSingleton continues a pipeline of former Mississippi State players to South Alabama, a list that also includes current Jaguars safety Wesley Miller and offensive linemen Reed Buys and Lucas Taylor. USA cornerbacks coach Jay Hopson spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as Director of High School Relations with the Bulldogs.

Three other South Alabama safeties have left the program since the end of spring practice. Veteran Keith Gallmon — a former three-year starter for the Jaguars and sophomores Jamarrien Burt and Tremel States-Jones have all entered the transfer portal.
