Brian Sweeney and Dan Jennings, driven by the tragic loss of their daughters to intimate partner violence, tirelessly advocate for legislative change. Their dedication involves national lobbying, attending key events, and participating in vigils. SooToday, recognizing their efforts, partners with a local sponsor and Cintas to provide resources and support their mission.
Brian Sweeney and Dan Jennings are two selfless advocates from Sault Ste. Marie who have dedicated their time, energy and personal resources to fighting for legislative change to combat intimate partner violence .
They both tragically lost their daughters to intimate partner violence and have made it their mission to try to protect other families from experiencing the heartbreaking losses they have endured. Whether it’s standing in Ottawa for the passing of a vital bill, representing their cause at Queen’s Park, or participating in vigils like the December 6 event in Montreal, their commitment to this cause knows no bounds.
Despite limited means, Jennings and Sweeney drive countless miles to advocate for change, attending key events like the second anniversary of the Renfrew County commission report on IPV. To support their mission, we’ve partnered with a local anonymous sponsor and Cintas to give them resources to ease their burden and keep them on the road to change.
The SooToday Cares team's mission is to create meaningful change in Sault Ste. Marie and inspire others to do the same.
