Sony buying studio behind hit 'Spider-Man' video game

Sony buys Insomniac Games, the studio behind hot-selling 'Spider-Man”, as it prepares for a new generation of the PlayStation gaming console

Insomniac Games worked with Sony interactive and Marvel Games on"Spider-Man," which has sold more than 13.2 million copies worldwide, according to Sony.

Sony did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition that will add Insomniac to its stable of studios making games exclusively for the Japanese consumer electronics giant's PlayStation consoles. "We've enjoyed a special relationship with PlayStation practically since our inception," Insomniac founder and chief executive Ted Price said.Sony is out to add Insomniac to its stable of studios as it prepares a new generation PlayStation.
