SOLON, Ohio – Preteens Layla and Amar have challenging food allergies that limit their culinary choices. So, their mom Sonya Patel started a seasoning company –
“It’s typically made with chili peppers, garlic, olive oil, cumin and other spices and some form of acid like a vinegar or lemon juice,” she says. It can be used in cooking or as a condiment. “We slowly added products that spoke to my family,” she says. “It was a mishmash of cultural influences. The one thing steadfast in company guidelines was that it needed to be allergen free. I needed to be sure my kiddos could eat it.”
