Abby Melvin scored twice as the Halifax West Warriors edged the C.P. Allen Cheetahs 2-1 to defend their School Sports Nova Scotia Division 1 girls' soccer championship on Saturday at Mainland North Common.Wagg struck in the fourth minute for the Cheetahs, who carried the lead into the second half. Melvin tied the game in the 61st minute and put the Warriors ahead in the 68th minute.In the bronze medal game, Citadel blanked Riverview 2-0.
In the boys' Division 1 final, Citadel blanked C.P. Allen 3-0 while Halifax West dropped the Woodlawn Panthers 5-1 in the bronze medal game. At the Division 2 girls' championship, Halifax Grammar School Gryphons downed the Island View Devils 6-2 to take the banner. West Kings topped Breton Education Centre 2-0 for the bronze medal.
Host Sacred Heart defeated Annapolis West Education Centre 3-1 to win the Division 3 boys' championship. West Bedford blanked Springhill 5-0 for the bronze medal.
