Destiny 2's new raid armor is reskinned Eververse gear, and fans are not amused. Is that justified?
The problem? Fans quickly deduced that the three sets of armor were reskins of Curse of Osiris-era Eververse armor. While a few raid sets like the lairs have been reskins in the past, this is A) a major expansion and B) a reskin ofthe raid set was confirmed by community manager DMG on the original reddit thread yesterday:
While I know that making fully new armor sets is hard work, we know there are at least three other brand new sets coming that we know about, the astronaut one, the seasonal Vex activity one and an Eververse one, and if anything should have happened, either the Eververse set or the Vex activity set could have been the reskin, and the raid armor should have been this set:I’m still not sure whether that’s the Vex activity set or the Eververse set, but my guess is the latter, as it doesn’t match...
All of this will be used more broadly than raid armor, which a much smaller fraction of the population has access to. Usually raids have anywhere from 5-25% clear rates, depending, with even fewer running them enough times to get full sets.
