'Unsettled' conditions will last until at least Tuesday
Ireland had better brace itself for some polar-esque weather this weekend, with hail and snow set to fall across the island on Friday before temperatures plunge to -3C.
Things aren't really set to improve any time soon, as an unsettled period is being predicted with heavy rain instore for many. In an update early on Friday morning, the national forecaster had the following to say: "Cold today with frost & fog patches clearing to leave a day of sunshine & showers. Showers will mainly affect N counties during the morning but will extend S across the country during the afternoon & eveningTo back up those rain and hail showers on Friday night, we'll see a lovely clear sky - resulting in freezing temperatures and frosty conditions.
