Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting snow for parts of Vancouver Island this week as weather continues to rapidly shift.

It looks like Vancouver Island might be going from summer-like warmth to winter weather in the span of a month.

“Those really high passes of the Island could see some wet snow mixed with rain before everything warms up by morning and it’s raining everywhere,” Alyssa Charbonneau, meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada told CHEK News in a phone interview. The next bout of snow for the Island is not far behind that, with many parts expected to get hit starting Monday evening into Tuesday.

Charbonneau says the daytime temperatures are expected to get up to around six or seven degrees, so the snow on those days is also not expected to stick.
