Another winter storm is expected to reach New Jersey on Sunday afternoon, with up to five inches of snow accumulation expected in parts of the state.

expected in the northwestern-most part of the state, while coastal areas could endure high winds and flooding.. Sussex County will be under a winter storm watch from 6 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday, as the storm could bring up to five inches of snow before turning into a wintry mix.

A winter storm is expected to drop several inches, with accumulation up to five inches in Sussex County, onto New Jersey on Sunday night, 1/16/22, into Monday morning, 1/17/22. This graphic from AccuWeather shows the expected precipitation from Sunday night's storm as it moves from the southeast toward New England. Most of the snow will miss New Jersey to the north, though Sussex County could receive up to five inches, while much of the state is expected to get a wintry mix.

And the winds combined with Monday morning’s high tide mean coastal areas could experience widespread minor flooding, forecasters said. The Weather Service issued coastal flood watches for Middlesex, Monmouth, Monmouth, eastern Essex and eastern Union counties, effective Sunday afternoon into Monday.
