The Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre’s Snow Angels program currently has 40 active volunteers set to go for the upcoming winter, but there are still 100 people on a waiting list.
While the current weather might not have people thinking about getting their shovels out, the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre is already looking to help out those who need snow removed from their paths, walkways and stairs.
“We have our volunteer recruitment underway and a couple of events here at the end of this month as we’re trying to have people matched up here before the snow starts to fly. “We really appreciate the volunteers that are part of this program as this is a great need for the older adults in our community,” support services coordinator Corrine Graham said.
