In addition to serving as 'Saturday Night Live' musical guest, Ariana Grande also appeared in a sketch that poked fun at movie musical 'Moulin Rouge!'
The sketch recreated scenes from the 2001 movie musical, with Grande portraying Nicole Kidman’s Satine and Bowen Yang as Ewan McGregor’s Christian. The original Baz Luhrmann film took contemporary pop songs, mashed them up, and placed them 1900 Paris. Thesketch also did that, but to the extreme, using Grande’s vocal talents to create ridiculous musical mash-ups.
For example, Grande and Yang segued Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel” into the nursery rhyme “Wheels on the Bus” into Styx’s “Come Sail Away” into Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man” into Shania Twain’s “Man I Feel Like a Woman!” into “Happy Birthday to You,” all in the span of 30 seconds.Michael Jackson Estate, Katherine Jackson Clash in Court Over $600 Million Catalog Deal'SNL' Weekend Update Bashes Trump's Gaffes, Katie Britt's Actingon Friday.
