The real-life Elizabeth Warren crashed the 'Saturday Night Live' cold open after suspending her 2020 presidential campaign this week.
The show's cold open featured Kate McKinnon as Fox News host Laura Ingraham, assuring viewers they had nothing to worry about when it came to coronavirus, dubbing concern over the virus "liberal fanfiction."
McKinnon's Ingraham was joined by guests including Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump . Day's Trump Jr. promised his dad has"everything under control," as his brother nodded along while playing with his newest toy — a thermometer, which beeps to indicate he has a high temperature. Ousted MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews made a brief appearance, musing to Ingraham he may"get in trouble for saying this, but you look great.
All in all, Warren is"so proud of our campaign." Most notably, not only did I not accept money from billionaires, I got to give one a swirly on live TV." McKinnon, who typically plays Warren on"SNL," then traded her Ingraham outfit to match the one the real Warren was wearing. The two Warrens stood next to each other on-screen as McKinnon thanked the politician for her contributions.
