The Los Angeles Kings are open for business on all of their blueliners, with the exception of Drew Doughty, and they have options that could fill Ottawa\u0027s need for a right shot.

The Senators can still make a push for a playoff spot.

The club went into Wednesday night’s action six points back of the Florida Panthers for the final wildcard spot in the East with four games in hand. The Senators will begin a difficult stretch of four games in five days starting with Friday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh. “There’s been times this season where it’s been a little bit hard, but the way we’ve been playing lately is the way we want to finish the year,” alternate captainsaid Wednesday. “We’re in it every single and we can compete with anyone. We believe that and we’ve shown it this year.

This is an unusual schedule because the Senators had a game scheduled for Dec. 23 against the Detroit Red Wings postponed until Monday because of a snowstorm. That means the Senators will host the Wings at home Monday and Tuesday.
