The Ottawa Senators will wrap up their annual scouting meetings Saturday in the Sunshine State.
Those meetings are led by assistant GM Trent Mann on the amateur side while assistant GM Ryan Bowness leads the pro scouting sessions. Dorion sits in on both, but the priority right now is the pros.
A unrestricted free agent, the Wild aren’t sure they want to lose Dumba for nothing at the end of the season and, though they’re in a playoff spot, there’s talk GM Bill Guerin is open to deal to get a return for the asset. The Senators aren’t willing to pay that price and there haven’t been any talks between the two teams lately.
You can expect that Dorion and the Senators will also spend part of this week making decisions on what might happen if they do fall out of the race.
