That comment provides a little insight into why Wolf is already a two-time recipient of the AHL’s goalie-of-the-year award and the reigning MVP in the minors and why many believe the 22-year-old rising star is ready for a full-time gig with the Flames.
In the home crease at the Saddledome, Wolf surrendered a pair of power-play goals to Kailer Yamamoto and was also fooled by Will Borgen, Cale Fleury and Tye Kartye. While Wolf admitted that he’d like to “be a little more crisp with my movement,” he also wasn’t going to beat himself up after his first game action since May. He remains 1-0 in NHL starts that count toward your career stat-line.
