This was the first time the Flames have lost by at least five goals all season, and once they were behind by a couple it just never felt like they were going to make a game out of it. The Flames managed only 17 shots on net, while giving up 39.
They’re four points back of the Winnipeg Jets, who sit in the Western Conference’s second wildcard position. Making a run isn’t impossible, but the Flames must be a lot better than they were on Monday.
