Emmanuel Sanders, WR, SMU / High School: Bellville / Class: 2005 / Rivals rating: 2 stars / When Sanders committed to SMU, the Ponies hadn’t been to a bowl game in 21 years and were coming off a season in which their leading receiver hauled in just 483 yards. But after a redshirt year to takes things in, the Bellville native wasted no time in making an impression on the Hilltop.
Sanders just recently wrapped up a 12-year NFL career. He was a third round selection for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010. He spent most of his career with the Denver Broncos. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Broncos and also won a Super Bowl there in 2016.Sanders, a former four-sport athlete at Bellville High School, excelled for the Mustangs. He led SMU in receiving every season and was a four-time All-Conference USA selection.
