Our brewery’s connection with Telegraph Cove dates back to 2017 during theLongwood Brewery of Nanaimo is raising funds for the Telegraph Cove community’s rebuild.
“It’s fairly small. We only sold it on the North Island to a couple of stores, and the money raised went to the Whale Interpretive Centre.”“After the fire, we got in contact with them and said we had this existing program that doesn’t run off season. Why don’t we release it up and down the Island and over on the mainland?”As for the artist behind the design, the painting of Telegraph Cove from the waters of the Johnson Strait is by Kathy Harder.
Harder was raised in Vancouver but spent her summers with relatives at Telegraph Cove, and eventually moved to the cove in 1991. In town, the community is still hard at work, rebuilding the boardwalk of Telegraph Cove and the Whale Interpretive Centre, including Gordie Graham. Graham and his wife first created the Telegraph Cove Resort & Campground in 1971.
