Key West police received a complaint on Halloween “about a white male in a banana costume” who was peeing on the side of a building – near a row of portable toilets,
Cops who arrived at the scene found 20-year-old Kyle Mortimer “urinating on the sidewalk,” according to a police report obtained by the outlet. The University of Miami student peeled away and tried to give the officers the slip by “zig-zagging” as he headed toward Duval Street, cops said.One cop grabbed his banana but he managed to split before another officer used a leg sweep to knock him to the ground, according to the report.
Mortimer “interlaced his fingers and held them tightly together” in an attempt to prevent the cops from cuffing him, but he was eventually taken into custody in front of the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon.The banana-head was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors and released on bond pending arraignment on Nov. 16.
