Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a stolen SUV crashed in Scarborough, causing a six car pileup and killing the SUV driver.
Investigators say Toronto police officers tried to stop the Mercedes-Benz SUV for speeding around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday near Markham Road and Milner Avenue, adding the vehicle was also reportedly stolen.One of the vehicles flipped and caught fire. The SUV driver, a man, was pronounced dead in hospital while another driver was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
