In a news release on Monday, the Special Investigations Unit said the man, 29, was taken to hospital after the arrest. According to the SIU, the incident began when the man entered a police station in Pickering at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The SIU said he was armed with an air pistol and discharged projectiles.Police continued to try to bring him into custody, the SIU said. The man barricaded himself in a public washroom in the station and shot his air pistol several times, the SIU added.
