An incident involving a stolen vehicle in downtown Toronto that saw two Toronto police officers fire their guns is prompting an investigation by the province’s police watchdog.
The SIU says officers were notified about a stolen vehicle taken from the Roxton Road and College Street area just after noon on Sunday.After an interaction with the two people inside the vehicle, the officers fired their guns at the vehicle before it took off.A 26-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were arrested.Neither were injured by the gunfire, however the SIU is required to investigate whenever police discharge a firearm.
