NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says an explosive spy watchdog report reveals several MPs helped foreign states interfere in Canadian politics through behaviour that was 'deeply unethical and contrary to the oaths” taken as parliamentarians, sometimes rising to the level of criminality. Singh also confirmed that the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians’ classified report said he was a target.
“Both Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre are putting the interest of their party ahead of the country, and that is wrong,” said Singh, who attacked the prime minister for being “slow to act” and willing to accept “a certain level of foreign interference.” Singh offered the opposite assessment of Green Leader Elizabeth May, who told reporters she was “relieved” after reviewing the document, saying she has “no worries” about people sitting in the House of Commons.
