There have been only two general elections—in 1988 and 2011—when New Democrats could legitimately claim to have replaced the Liberal s as the alternative to the Conservative party of the day. Jagmeet Singh has made it clear he’s working to make that happen again the next election.

Singh secured the rollout of dental care, the implementation of national child care, paid sick leave and anti-scab legislation, and a plan to protect and create sustainable jobs, plus he got national pharmacare passed through the House of Commons. He made it possible for 11 million people to receive two additional GST rebate cheques to help cover the rising cost of everything.
