This is what the Leafs can be when they attack as a group, play at another speed and don’t allow themselves to let the opponent take over the pace or the style of play. But at least now they can exhale. They have quieted the doubters for one night. But if the Stanley Cup playoffs have shown anything in every second-round series outside of Toronto-Florida, one game shows no resemblance to the next.
There has not been much luck on the Leafs side in this series, but there was Wednesday night when the puck bounced off the knee of a referee and ricocheted in the direction of Nylander, whose backhand from in close beat Bobrovsky. That came on the power play in the second period.
