PHILADELPHIA – So here we are again. Game 7 and Toronto. Another team. Another sport.Another winner-take-all.A city overtaken by playoff heartache and heartbreak, by optimism and excitement, …
Another winner-take-all.
The Maple Leafs lost Game 6 and then Game 7 against the Boston Bruins. The Raptors were in position to advance to the Eastern Conference final, for only the second time in their history, and couldn’t beat the 76ers at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night, not only couldn’t they beat them, couldn’t really come close.
“Two close games, two each way, I don’t know,” said coach Nick Nurse. “A lot of it has to be with momentum. We just missed so many shots early.” The quizzical Embiid ended the night at plus-40, scoring 17 points, which was third in Philadelphia scoring. He was dominant in ways he hasn’t been dominant in the series and Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka had no answer for him.
