American Rust cancelled by Showtime after only one season
✖ American Rust has been cancelled by Showtime after just one season. Pittsburgh's Tribune Review reported the news first and fans are a little shocked to hear that. Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney had become a normal sight for viewers on the network. Showrunner Dan Futterman put out a statement thanking the network for the opportunity. Showtime itself also released comment on American Rust's cancellation. In the age of streaming, sometimes you only get one season to prove your concept.
Futterman put out a statement to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the decision to cancel the show. He was thankful to the people of the region for being so welcoming of the cast and crew.
