Sault Ste. Marie's MP has a great way for you to celebrate Canada
As Canada marks the 60th anniversary of its national flag, Sault Ste. Marie residents are encouraged to show their patriotism with special law signs that display the Canadian flag.
“I want to thank everyone for being united as part of Team Canada, showing patriotism during these very challenging times and standing up to threats to our independence,” Sheehan said. In recent weeks, public displays of national pride have grown due to the ongoing trade war with the U.S. and the threats to Canada's sovereignty, making this milestone even more meaningful.
The maple leaf itself has a long history as a Canadian symbol, dating back to the 18th century. It gained prominence during the First World War.
