Prep work is being done to install new concrete sidewalks
The work crews resurfacing Queen Street are planning short-term closures this week of the temporary sidewalks between March and Spring.The sidewalk closures will happen at isolated locations with access to local businesses maintained from March or Spring and other pedestrians directed to walk through to the south side of Queen.
Queen Street is currently reduced to a single lane of traffic and one parking lane while work proceeds on one side of Queen at a time.Queen Street from Elgin to March will be fully closed for six weeks beginning in mid-August.Here's what they're proposing to do this week:The work is expected to be substantially completed late this fall with some work extending into 2025, depending on the final project limits.
